Any suggestions on a good bass guitar neck?

I am planning on building a bass guitar. All I need to know is a good website to get a bass guitar neck. I just do not know where to tell a good website for parts, from a bad one. All of the sites i’ve seen have either very cheap necks–$20.00+, or very expensive ones–$400.00+.

Can someone please tell me where I could get a good neck for around $50.00, that still sounds and looks good.

You won’t get a good neck for $50. You are looking for miracles. A decent neck will sell for $150 and still , it won’t be the best neck.
Cheapest affordable necks are maple with a rosewood fingerboard. Try to get a price on a Fender Squier Bass neck. That should be affordable since they are made in Mexico.
