reccomend me a microphone?

I need a microphone to use with my camcorder, the connection is a 3.5 mm jack. It will be mounted with the camcorder on a bracket like this: http://avchduser.com/articles/external_mic_sony_sm.jpg

I am mainly going to be using it for drama pieces on location, my concerns are therefore the following:
*Quality of sound pickup at mid range-between 1 and 5 metres away, mainly dialogue
*Rejection of sound from sides and rear i.e. me directing the cameraman
*Rejection of handling noise, tried 2 low end shotgun (audio technica 6250 and sony ecm-msd1) mics now and they’ve both picked up every movement of my hand on the tripod as a loud clunk, even with a shock mount.

My budget is £130-£150max
I was hoping for some specific models?

the shotgun will be good to get the dialog if this is a one-man show. if you have 2 actors in dialog, then the camer will have to swish pan to point the mic to the one speaking, especially at this close distance. i recommend using a simple cardiod mic which is resistant to handling noise, and the wider acceptance angle means the camera can be set on a “2-shot” when the actors are in dialog. The 2-shot eliminates the annoying swish pans and also allows us to see the “reaction” of the non-speaking actor.

the way to eliminate director sounds is to use a headphone type intercom on the camera operator, and the director to be at some distance away, in another room preferably. the camera person does not speak when “on shot”, only between takes. the director watches the action on a video monitor that is cabled to the camera.

a good cardiod mic is easily obtained in this price range, however the intercom will add to the cost.
