How does a mono amp with 2 speaker inputs work?
If the amp says it is 600 watts x 1 mono amp and it has 2 speaker inputs does that mean if I hook up to one input it will give 600 watts and if i hook up one speaker to each input they will each pull 300??
My bad, speaker outputs, blah.
So… ok, that makes sense then. If I have 2 subs rated at 500 each and I put oune output to each it would be the equivelant of 300 to each, like when i was putting 350 into my 2 piece of crap subs only it looks like it’s actually seperated into 2
I’m pretty sure you mean “output”, not “input”. Many mono amps have dual speaker outputs to make it easier to hook up two speakers. The two terminals are connected together internally, so you can think of both connections as the exact same terminal. In other words, if you’re hooking up two speakers, there’s no difference between hooking them up to separate terminals and hooking them up to the same terminals at the amp.
If you connect two identical speakers to a mono amplifier, the power will be split evenly between the two speakers, no matter how you connect them to the amp terminals.
